Just a Thought

God help me not to become a musical snob….er elitist like some of my fellow bloggers around.  As a lover of jazz and some politically conscious hip-hop, I don’t feel the need to toss Thelonius Monk or Dave Brubeck in the garbage can in favor of Wagner or Hadyn.  I love some classical music.  Beethoven happens to be one of my personal favorites.  But shame on me: my tastes in music are a tad too eclectic for some.  I highly recommend the PBS series on Jazz.
As a native from Indianapolis, you should understand why I detest the New England Patriots.  While I have plenty of names I could call them, the NFL saved me the energy and added a new monicker for them: CHEATERS.  The Patriots were fined $250,000 and Bill Belichick tagged a wopping $500,000 for videotaping the New York Jets’ defensive signals last week.  Let’s get something clear: if you pull crap like this, you deserve to get got–whether or not you’re my favorite team.  Now maybe they can spend less time making excuses for why they got jacked last year and more time rediscovering how to win the right way.
I’m going out to get Casting Crowns’ latest CD.  I’m pumped and have read nothing but great reviews about it.
I cannot say how pleased I was hearing that both Michigan and Notre Dame lost.  Does this mean I will be spared the “We’re going to win the National Championship” mantra I normally hear from these programs, particularly Notre Dame?  Hope so, lol!

  1. I also have eclectic tastes in music, and appreciate others who do likewise. Right now in my computer’s Media Player I have Mozart, Steven Curtis Chapman, the Eagles, Rich Mullins, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Enya, the Allman Brothers, Clint Black, U2, and the soundtrack to “Raiders of the Lost Ark”–to name just a few.

How much more eclectic can you get?
