Big Idea: God uses whoever is willing to glorify Himself and bring us into the purpose and destiny for which He has made us (Eph. 2:10)
The Faith of Rahab
• She recognized God for who He was despite her location and polytheistic culture (2:9). What is important about her recognition is that she calls Him by His personal name, Jehovah which speaks to God’s “the independent and self-existent God of revelation and redemption.” (Bible.org)
• Rahab recognized God’s hand upon Israel and His mighty miraculous works on their behalf for His divine purpose(2:10-11).
• Rahab trusted God to save her AND her entire family. The rest of the chapter shows a woman willing to risk her own life and household on the belief that the God of Israel would preserve them.
